FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONTACT: MICHELE ADRIANSE, 269-857-7289

“BAREFOOT PICNIC CONCERT AT SATYA YOGA CENTER IN SAUGATUCK, MI”
Satya Yoga Center and Mamma Grace Records present Jenna Mammina and Friends, Friday, August, 29th 2008 at 8pm. The event will be co-sponsored by ThirdStone Art Gallery.

This will be a “picnic-like” setting inside the center where yoga and other wellness activities are practiced on a daily basis. On this special evening, people are invited to “BYOB&B” (bring your own basket & blanket), and create their own little quaint and comfortable spot to sit back and chill to one of the top vocalists around. Weather pending, a tented outdoor area will be available to sit under the stars and socialize, and personally meet Jenna who will be doing CD signing and sales.

Jenna will be singing songs from her newest CD “Jenna Mammina-Live at The Acorn Theatre”, along with favorites from her other discs, as well as a couple of songs she will write the night of the show! True to form, Jenna has been busy this past year performing coast to coast, playing festivals, concert halls, teaching her award winning program Scat for Cats, instructing yoga (Jenna is a certified yoga instructor who has taken classes at Satya, and promises to teach workshops and lead a Kirtan very soon!), as well as promoting her new CD recorded live in Southwestern Michigan on her most recent pass-through last August. “Southwestern Michigan has really matured as a hotspot for music over the last seven or eight years,” Mammina recently acknowledged as she was taking a ferry to a recent “gig” in the Seattle, Washington area. “I have musician friends from all over the country whom I have had the pleasure of performing with at the Box Factory who can’t wait to get back.”

Jenna has performed with a vast array of legendary talent, such as Bobby McFerrin, Rickie Lee Jones, Al Jarreau, Phish, David Sanborn, and Rosemary Clooney to name just a few. She has shared CD’s with such luminaries as John Lennon, Billy Joel and Elvis Presley, confirming her timeless approach to her music. Her Record Label, Mamma Grace Records, was recently lauded in Downbeat Magazine as a solid contender and a “true indie” (independent) label.

“In the world of downloads and computer generated music, she is one that can back up live performances, capture her audience, and hold them like butterflies in the palm of her hand” writes Grapevine Culture critic Kimberlye Gold. Read more on Jenna on the web at www.jennamammina.com.

Admission is $20.
