THIRDSTONE ART ARRIVES IN ST. JOE - NEW PROJECT BY JENNA MAMMINA
Yup. in a new collaborative project with our singer friend Jenna Mammina, there are two new projects of interest she's cooked up in her neighborhood. First, Jenna is starting a new gallery business there known as "Gallery Mina" and has also been invited to serve as curator to provide ThirdStone art for a brand new salon in downtown St. Joe, "salon devoir"(located at 313 Main Street) She's already installed her first feature show there. The salon opened for business a week or so and Jenna will be providing them with regular feature groupings of art on a frequent rotating basis. A Grand Opening event will happen in September. I'll be sure to keep you posted with details about that. Salon Devoir is open Tuesdays thru Saturdays.Gallery-Mina;s new site will be at www.gallery-mina.com

In addition, Jenna is teaching yoga classes and few other projects in St. Joe and asked me to pass along the following:
"Om at home - yoga private,. semi private, and group classes. Also dog sitting, house sitting. Jenna is back in town and she is ready to work!" Contact her at "scatforcats@yahoo.com" for more information... Her new "om at home" has a site coming to www.omathome.com

Yep! Come and check 'em out.... (Rolling Sculptures??). Harry from ATVguys has a couple of his cool new motor-scooters here at ThirdStone... They're pretty nifty. They're 3 different models and sizes and lotsa colors - all 50cc (meaning ya don't need a motorcycle license, helmet or vehicle insurance). Good prices too (prices start at only $950). That also means they're good for about 100mpg of fuel too; great for in-town commuting!. We'll try to keep a couple on display here through the end of August...

JENNA MAMMINA IN CONCERT - AUG 29

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONTACT: MICHELE ADRIANSE, 269-857-7289

“BAREFOOT PICNIC CONCERT AT SATYA YOGA CENTER IN SAUGATUCK, MI”
Satya Yoga Center and Mamma Grace Records present Jenna Mammina and Friends, Friday, August, 29th 2008 at 8pm. The event will be co-sponsored by ThirdStone Art Gallery.

This will be a “picnic-like” setting inside the center where yoga and other wellness activities are practiced on a daily basis. On this special evening, people are invited to “BYOB&B” (bring your own basket & blanket), and create their own little quaint and comfortable spot to sit back and chill to one of the top vocalists around. Weather pending, a tented outdoor area will be available to sit under the stars and socialize, and personally meet Jenna who will be doing CD signing and sales.

Jenna will be singing songs from her newest CD “Jenna Mammina-Live at The Acorn Theatre”, along with favorites from her other discs, as well as a couple of songs she will write the night of the show! True to form, Jenna has been busy this past year performing coast to coast, playing festivals, concert halls, teaching her award winning program Scat for Cats, instructing yoga (Jenna is a certified yoga instructor who has taken classes at Satya, and promises to teach workshops and lead a Kirtan very soon!), as well as promoting her new CD recorded live in Southwestern Michigan on her most recent pass-through last August. “Southwestern Michigan has really matured as a hotspot for music over the last seven or eight years,” Mammina recently acknowledged as she was taking a ferry to a recent “gig” in the Seattle, Washington area. “I have musician friends from all over the country whom I have had the pleasure of performing with at the Box Factory who can’t wait to get back.”

Jenna has performed with a vast array of legendary talent, such as Bobby McFerrin, Rickie Lee Jones, Al Jarreau, Phish, David Sanborn, and Rosemary Clooney to name just a few. She has shared CD’s with such luminaries as John Lennon, Billy Joel and Elvis Presley, confirming her timeless approach to her music. Her Record Label, Mamma Grace Records, was recently lauded in Downbeat Magazine as a solid contender and a “true indie” (independent) label.

“In the world of downloads and computer generated music, she is one that can back up live performances, capture her audience, and hold them like butterflies in the palm of her hand” writes Grapevine Culture critic Kimberlye Gold. Read more on Jenna on the web at www.jennamammina.com.

Admission is $20.

Book your tickets on-line at www.thirdstoneartgallery.com, or via email, brucemonster@gmail.com,

THIRDSTONE NEWS, AUGUST 7, 2008

THIRDSTONE NEWS AND NOTES:

The latest THIRDSTONE NEWS:
Our second Summer group show continues and more new works have arrived... And, as previously mentioned, during the Summer season I'll also be making even more selected works from the ThirdStone collection available too. I won't tell you exactly what just yet but I'm sure some of you longtime ThirdStone fans will spot them pretty readily. I'll be adding several new selections each week. Also, I'm still seeking selected "previously-owned" works from private collections... Let me know what you have that you'd like to "recycle" to a new home...
------------------------------
GALLERY HOURS: 7 days a week, 11 til 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 pm and usually later (MUCH!) on the weekends...and also by appointment anytime - call 269-561-8149.

The salon opened for business a week or so and Jenna will be providing them with regular feature groupings of art on a regular, rotating basis. A Grand Opening event will happen in September. I'll be sure to keep you posted with details about that. Salon Devoir is open Tuesdays thru Saturdays.

(Also see the music listings section below for several upcoming concert performances by this terrific artist)

BLOID-O-RAMA AND PAINT SPATTERS - MY "RUIN YOUR DECOR" SOLO SHOW SLATED FOR LATE SEPTEMBER
Okay, for all of those who've been asking why no further mention of my first solo show ever, not to worry; I'm not gonna weasel out of it this time. I do however need to insure that when it does happen that's it's suitably ludicrous. So, at this point with it so busy on a daily basis here at ThirdStone, I'm still not going to announce the exact date but it's looking like late September will be it for sure (probably, maybe kinda sorta or not). So just stay tuned for now....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
